The Purdue-Martinsville PCE Study is a research program with multiple projects. One of these project is a study entitled "Tetrachloroethylene (PCE) contamination and children's health in Martinsville, IN," also called "Showalter Project," which aims to assess low-level exposure to volatile organic compounds and the potential impact on neurobehavioral health among children living in Martinsville, Indiana. Your participation is valuable and completely voluntary.

We are looking for participants that meet one of the following conditions:

  • Have lived in one of four contamination areas (the EPA, O'Neil, Twigg, and Harman-Becker plumes) for the last 4 years


  • Have lived outside any of known contaminated areas for the last 4 years but still within the boundaries of the MSD of Martinsville
