Global Health Scholars Day at IU showcases the excellent work being done by the IU community to improve the health of communities and patients worldwide, including through care and service programs, conducting cutting edge research to inform practice and policy and educating learners in a variety of disciplines about health and healthcare systems.

This year, Global Health Scholars Day will be held on May 2, 2025. Indianapolis author and global health philanthropist John Green will discuss his new book "Everything is Tuberculosis" during a fireside chat at the Madam Walker Theater in Indianapolis beginning at noon. Ticket information will be shared soon on the IU Center for Global Health Equity website.  The event will also include networking opportunities for IU faculty, staff and students interested in global health and a poster session featuring work in global health care, training and research programs.

We invite submissions from IU students, trainees and faculty in any area of global health related to care/service projects or programs, education, research and case reports. Submissions that describe previously published work are welcome. Submissions should be in abstract form that is not longer than 350 words and structured appropriately for the submission type.

Abstracts are due by April 4, 2025 using the submission page below. The corresponding author will be notified if their abstract is accepted by March 28 and will be invited to submit a poster describing their work at Global Health Scholars Day on May 2nd.

All accepted posters must be dropped off at the IU Center for Global Health Equity office (702 Rotary Circle, Suite RO 101, Indianapolis, IN 46202) by Thursday, April 24th

For general inquiries about Scholars Day or abstract submissions, please contact Jenny Baenziger (jbaenz@iu.edu) and Victoria Eder (vneder@iu.edu).
